Sheringham is a fishing town on the North Norfolk coast, smaller than Cromer but sharing its Victorian and Edwardian red-brick character. The town still has a working fishing fleet, and its older flint-and-brick cottages in the lower town near the beach reflect the traditional North Norfolk coastal vernacular — flint cobble lower courses with red-brick quoins, dressings and upper elevations.
